Procedure
Crude 9H-fluoren-9-ylmethyl 8-ethylsulfonyl-3,8-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octane-3-carboxylate obtained from step 3 was dissolved in DMF (500 μL) and treated with piperidine (4 mg, 5 μL, 0.05 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. The reaction mixture was diluted with methanol/DCM and treated with carbonate resin. The reaction mixture was filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield 8-ethylsulfonyl-3,8-diazabicyclo[3.2.1]octane which was used directly in the next step without further purification.
