A mixture of 7-(methyl{[2-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]sulfonyl}amino)-1H-indole-2-carbothioamide (2.65 g), ethyl but-2-ynoate (1.5 mL), tributylphosphine (1.6 mL), toluene (30 mL) and tetrahydrofuran (20 mL) was stirred for 2.5 hr at room temperature. The reaction solution was concentrated, and the obtained residue was subjected to silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate:hexane=2:8-4:6) to give the title compound (1.92 g, yield: 57%) as a pale-yellow oil.
