Procedure
In an argon atmosphere, a mixture of methyl benzoate (1.0 mmol), 6-aminohexan-2-ol (1.2 mmol), Zn4(OCOCF3)6O (1.25 mol % in terms of mole number) and toluene (1.7 ml) was heated to reflux for 46 hours, and as a result, 6-amino-2-hexyl benzoate was obtained at a yield of 66%. The yield of 6-benzoylamino-2-hexyl benzoate was 21%.
