Procedure
0.9 g (0.01 mol) of aniline was reacted with 1.8 g (0.01 mol) of 3,4-dimethyl-3-cyclohexene dicarboxylic anhydride under reflux for 4 hours in isopropyl ether. The reaction mixture was cooled, and the precipitated crystals were filtered off to provide 2.6 g (yield: 96%) of the title compound.
