Procedure
15 mg of Ethyl 3-(3-hydroxy-4-methoxyphenyl)-2-isopropoxypropanoate and 25 mg of 5-(2-methyl-1,3-thiazol-4-yl)-2-thiophenesulfonyl chloride were dissolved in 0.4 ml of dichloromethane, and 50 μl of triethylamine was added, and the mixture was kept still at room temperature overnight. To the reaction mixture was added ethyl acetate and the mixture was washed with water. The solvent was concentrated, and the residue was treated with 0.4 ml of ethanol and 0.1 ml of 5N-sodium hydroxide, and the mixture was kept still at room temperature for 30 minutes. The reaction mixture was neutralized with 1N-hydrochloric acid, extracted with ethyl acetate. The solvent was distilled off, and the residue was purified by reverse-phase high performance liquid chromatography, to give 5.8 mg of the title compound.
