Procedure
To a solution of 3-(4-nitrophenoxy)-dihydrofuran-2-one (47 mg, 0.21 mmol) in EtOH (3 mL) was added palladium hydroxide (<1 mg). The reaction flask was evacuated and purged with H2 and then stirred at room temperature under a H2 atmosphere for 1 hour. The catalyst was removed by filtration and the filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the desired product (40 mg, 99%).
