A mixture of 45.2 (48 mg, 0.166 mmol), 4′-Bromomethyl-2-butoxy-5-methyl-biphenyl (67 mg, 0.2 mmol) and cesium carbonate (81 mg, 0.25 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was diluted with water, acidified with dilute HCl, extracted into ethyl acetate, washed with water and dried over magnesium sulfate. The residue obtained after concentration was flash chromatographed on silica gel to obtain 45.3 (71 mg).
