To a cooled (0° C.) solution of 11a (250 mg, 1.4 mmol) in DMF (10 ml), NaH (65 mg, 1.6 mmol) was added. The mixture was stirred for 10 min. and MOMCl (103 μl, 1.4 mmol) was dropwise added. The mixture was stirred at 0° C. for 1 h and quenched with water (1 ml). The solvent was evaporated and the residue dissolved in CH2Cl2. The organic solution was washed with aq. Na2CO3, evaporated and purified by flash column chromatography. Elution with CH2Cl2/MeOH (95/5) gave 12 (267 mg, 87%) as a white solid.
