Procedure
A solution of 1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4-piperidinamine dihydrochloride (D40, 0.70 g) in water (5 ml) was basified to pH 12 with solid K2CO3, then extracted with dichloromethane and the combined organic extract was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated under vacuum to dryness, to afford 1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yl)-4-piperidinamine as a pale yellow solid (0.22 g).
