A mixture of 4-methyl-5-[2-(1-methyl-cyclopropyl)-pyridin-4-yl]-thiazol-2-ylamine (Step 1.2) (28.5 mmol) and CDI (42.8 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (330 mL) was refluxed for 11 h. After cooling to rt, the reaction mixture was filtered to afford the title compound as a light green solid.
