Procedure
To a solution of Intermediate 11 (1.5 g, 4.08 mmol) in isopropanol (20 mL) is added 3M aq. NaOH (5 mL) followed by bromoethanol (2.90 mL, 40.8 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred at rt for 15 h, and is then diluted with EtOAc. The org. solution is washed with 1M aq. NaOH followed by brine, dried over Na2SO4, filtered and concentrated. The crude compound is purified by CC (eluting with Heptane/EA 4:1) to give the title compound as a yellow oil (1.77 g); LC-MS: tR=1.16 min; [M+H]+=412.09. 1H NMR (CDCl3) δ1.26 (t, J=7.0 Hz, 6H), 1.33 (t, J=7.5 Hz, 3H), 2.41 (s, 3H), 2.47 (s, 3H), 2.78 (q, J=7.5 Hz, 2H), 2.16 (t, J=5.5 Hz, 1H), 3.76 (q, J=7.0 Hz, 4H), 4.01 (m, 4H), 7.23 (s, 1H), 7.90 (d, J=5.8 Hz, 2H).
