To 10 mL of 2-propanol saturated with HCl gas was added 9-Carboethoxy-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,2-c]-quinazolin-5(6H)-one (100 mg) and the mixture was heated in a sealed tube at 150° C. for 1 hour. The reaction was cooled and the solvent was evaporated in vacuo. To the reaction mixture was added 10 mL of H2O and the mixture was then brought to pH 7 with ammonium hydroxide. The solid was collected and dried to yield 9-Carboisopropoxy-2-(2-fluorophenyl)-7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-imidazo[1,2-c]quinazolin-5(6H)-one (Compound 14). m.p. 282°-285° C.
