To a suspension of tert-butyl 4-(4-chloro-6-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,3,5-triazin-2-ylamino)benzoate (10 g, 24.71 mmol) and Hunig's Base (8.63 mL, 49.4 mmol) in THF (100 mL) was added 4-(aminomethyl)phenol (3.19 g, 25.9 mmol). The resulting mixture was refluxed for 1 hour. After cooling to rt, the solvent was removed and the crude product was purified by silica gel chromatography using 20-40-100% EtOAc/Hexanes to give tert-butyl 4-((4-((4-hydroxybenzyl)amino)-6-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino)benzoate (10.3 g, 85%) as white solid.
