Procedure
1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (0.31 mL, 2.0 mmol) was added dropwise to a solution of 2-fluoro-N′-hydroxy-3-iodo-N-(4-methoxybenzyl)-4-methylbenzimidamide (preparation 23a, 0.80 g, 1.9 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (10 mL). The mixture was then heated under microwave conditions (“Initiator sixty” from Biotage®) at 150° C. for 4 hours under an argon atmosphere. The mixture was then poured into water and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (10:1 to 4:1 hexanes/ethyl acetate) to give the title compound (0.29 g, 38%) as a white solid.
