Procedure

N-(3-Chloro-4-fluorophenyl)-N′-hydroxy-4-(2-methoxyethyl)-1,2,5-oxadiazole-3-carboximidamide (2.5 g, 7.9 mmol) was dissolved in THF (44 mL) followed by addition of N,N-carbonyldiimidazole (1.5 g, 9.5 mmol). The reaction was heated to 70° C. for 1.5 h. The reaction solution was concentrated and purified by silica gel chromatography (20% ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the desired product (2.7 g, 99%). MF═C13H10ClFN4O4; LCMS calculated for C13H11ClFN4O4 (M+H)+: m/z=341.0.
