Ethyl 5-(2-chloro-4-morpholinothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)pyridine-3-carboxylate (240 mg) and 27 mg of lithium hydroxide monohydrate were dissolved in 4 mL of THF and 4 mL of H2O. The reaction was stirred for 2 h at room temperature. The mixture was evaporated, and then added H2O. The mixture was acidified with 1N HCl to pH=2˜3. The resulting solid was filtered and washed with H2O to yield 5-(2-chloro-4-morpholinothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidin-6-yl)pyridine-3-carboxylic acid (250 mg).
