To a solution of 3-[3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-4,5-dihydroisoxazole-5-carboxylic acid (259 mg, 1 mmol) and tert-butyl (3S)-pyrrolidin-3-ylcarbamate (186 mg, 1 mmol) in DMF (0.5 mL) and methylene chloride (5 mL) at 0° C. was added triethylamine (120 mg, 1.2 mmol) and benzotriazol-1-yloxytris(dimethylamino)-phosphonium hexafluorophosphate (442 mg, 1 mmol). The mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature over 1 h and stirred at room temperature for 1 h. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo, and the residue was chromatographed on silica gel, eluting with 1% NH4OH in ethyl acetate to give the desired coupling intermediate (410 mg) as a white solid.
