4-|3-(4-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,9-diaza-bicyclo|3.3.1|nonane-9-sulfonyl|-indan-2-carboxylic acid: A mixture of 4-[3-(4-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,9-diaza-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-9-sulfonyl]-indan-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (13 mg, 0.025 mmol), 1N LiOH (2 mL), tetrahydrofuran (8 mL), and methanol (2 mL) was stirred at rt for 3 h. The reaction was poured into 1N HCl (40 mL) and extracted with ethyl acetate (40 mL×2). The combined organic extracts were dried, filtered, and concentrated to give 4-[3-(4-trifluoromethoxy-phenyl)-3,9-diaza-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonane-9-sulfonyl]-indan-2-carboxylic acid: 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6): δ7.69 (d, 1H), 7.52 (d, 1H), 7.38 (t, 1H), 7.19 (d, 2H), 6.92 (d, 2H), 4.04-3.97 (m, 2H), 3.74-3.67 (m, 2H), 3.44-3.30 (m, 3H), 3.26-3.10 (m, 2H), 2.96-2.86 (m, 2H), 2.26-2.15 (m, 1H), 1.86-1.72 (m, 4H), 1.51-1.43 (m, 1H); MS (ESI): 511.4 (M+H).
