A solution of Example 2C (1 g, 3.47 mmol) in 1 N NaOH (20.8 mL) was stirred at 40° C. for 4 days. The solution was neutralized to pH 7 with 1 N HCl, extracted with ethyl acetate, and the organic layer was concentrated in vacuo. Column chromatography on silica (7% methanol/dichloromethane) afforded the title compound as a white solid (0.54 g, 63.2%).
