N-[(1S,2R,3S,4R)-4-(2,6-dichloro-purin-9-yl)-2,3-dihydroxy-cyclopentyl]-propionamide (160 mg, 0.44 mmol) is dissolved in THF (5 mL) under an atmosphere of argon. DIPEA (69 mg, 0.53 mmol) is added followed by 2,2-diphenylethylamine (96 mg, 0.49 mmol) and the reaction mixture is stirred at 50° C. The reaction is shown to be complete by LCMS after 2 hours. The solvent is removed in vacuo and the title compound is obtained after purification by reverse phase column chromatography (Isolute™ C18, 0-100% acetonitrile in water—0.1% TFA).
