2,6-Difluorobenzonitrile, 19 g (0.14 mol) in 200 ml of ethanol saturated with NH3 at 0° C. is heated in a sealed vessel at 140° C. for 6 hrs. The mixture is evaporated to dryness, water is added and the product is collected and recrystallized from benzene, m.p. 128°-130° C.
