To a solution of 6′-[acetyl-(3-chloro-benzyl)-amino]-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-[1,2′]bipyrazinyl-4-carboxylic acid tert-butyl ester I-5c (27.1 mg, 0.06 mmol) in methylene chloride (1 mL) was added trifluoroacetic Acid (1 mL). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature until the reaction was completed. The reaction mixture was poured into saturated NaHCO3 (20 mL) and extracted with methylene chloride (2×15 mL). The organic layers were combined, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to dryness to yield the title compound 5-A (26.2 mg).
