(S)-{1-[3-(6-Methyl-pyridin-3-yloxy)-phenyl]-ethyl}-carbamic acid tert-butyl ester (3.45 g, 10.52 mmol), hydrogen chloride in ether (36.8 mL, 1.0M) and methanol (5 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 6 h. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo to provide the title compound (3.4 g, quantitative yield) as yellow solid.
