Ethyl 3-(4-cyano-1H-indazol-1-yl)propanoate (D96) (0.95 g, 3.91 mmol), hydroxylamine hydrochloride (1.086 g, 15.62 mmol), and sodium bicarbonate (3.28 g, 39.1 mmol), were heated in ethanol (20 ml) at 50° C. for 3 hours. The mixture was filtered and evaporated to give the title compound (760 mg) as a white powder. MS (ES): C13H16N4O3 requires 276; found (MH+) 277.
