6-Trifluoromethyl-pyridazin-3-ylamine (0.042 g) (prepared by a procedure similar to that described in WO2007048779) was dissolved in dichloromethane (40 mL) and stirred with potassium carbonate (0.214 g). 2-Bromoacetyl bromide (0.12 mL) was added and stirring continued for 1.5 hours. Water (0.24 mL) was added and the reaction mixture was stirred for 1.5 hours after which water (40 mL) was added and the reaction mixture stirred for a further 1.5 hours. The dichloromethane was separated, dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to afford the sub-titled compound as a white solid (0.053 g).
