3-[2-(5-Difluoromethoxy-1-methyl-3-trifluoromethyl-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-acetylamino]-pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid methyl ester (0.980 g) was heated to 100° C. with potassium carbonate (0.662 g) in dry N,N-dimethylformamide (10 ml) for 3 hours. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool to ambient temperature, diluted with water and the mixture extracted with ethyl acetate. The aqueous fraction was acidified to pH 1-2 by addition of aqueous hydrochloric acid (2M) and then extracted again with ethyl acetate. The organic fraction was washed with water, dried over sodium sulfate, and concentrated to give Compound No. B26 of Table B (0.805 g).
