Procedure
7.7 g (0.05 mol) of 1,2-dimethylcyclobutane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid anhydride with 8.1 (0.05 mol) of 3,5-dichloroaniline are heated for 8 hours at 180° C. After cooling, the crude product is recrystallised from ethyl acetate to obtain 5.1 g (34% of theory) of 1,2-dimethylcyclobutane-1,2-dicarboxylic acid-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-imide, the properties of which are identical to those of the compound produced according to Example 1.
