Procedure
To a high pressure tube is added 6-(5-amino-3-methyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)-N-methylpyrimidin-4-amine 29 (2.0 g, 9.8 mmol), 3-bromo-4-methylphenyl carbamic acid tert-butyl ester 37 (2.4 g, 10.8 mmol), Pd(OAc)2 (132 mg, 0.59 mmol), Cs2CO3 (3.5 g, 10.8 mmol), 4,5-bis(diphenylphosphino)-9,9-dimethylxanthene (340 mg, 0.59 mmol) and 1,4-dioxane (30 mL). The mixture is flushed with N2 at 0° C. for a few minutes, then heated to 120° C. for 2 days. The mixture is poured into water and extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer is separated, dried with MgSO4, then concentrated in vacuo. The residue is purified by flash chromatography [silica gel, hexane:EtOAc/5:5] to provide tert-butyl 4-methyl-3-(3-methyl-1-(6-(methylamino)-pyrimidin-4-yl)-1H-pyrazol-5-ylamino)phenylcarbamate 38.
