A 1.3 M solution of isopropylmagnesium chloride.LiCl in THF [807329-97-1] (19.78 mmol) was added dropwise at 0° C. to a solution of 4-bromobenzonitrile [623-00-7] (16.48 mmol) in THF (8.5 mL) and the mixture was stirred between 0° C. and 5° C. for 2 h. The product was used without further purification. tR: 4.25 min (sample in MeOH) (HPLC 4).
