Procedure

2-Amino-4-(3-bromo-4,5-dimethoxy-phenyl)-4H-benzo[g]chromene-3-carbonitrile (30) (24 mg) was taken in 1 ml dry DMF (dimethylformamide) and then charged with methyl iodide (30 μl) and potassium carbonate (30 mg) at room temperature. The reaction was completed after 20 h stirring at room temperature. The title compound was purified on HPLC (21 mm×250 mm, RP18, 5 mm) with a Methanol/water gradient (5% MeOH to MeOH in 25 min, flow 21 ml/min) to yield pale yellowish solids (18 mg).
