Bromoacetyl bromide (0.52 ml, 6.0 mmol) was added to a solution of 1-(3,3-dimethyl-butyl)-piperazine hydro-chloride from Example E4 (1.5 g, 5.7 mmol) in dichloromethane (20 ml) and triethylamine (3.57 ml, 25.6 mmol) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred for 20 h at room temperature, washed with saturated NaHCO3, dried and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (eluant; 5% methanol:95% dichloromethane) to yield the title compound (220 mg, 13%).
