17.4 g of p-hydroxy cinnamic acid and 40.0 g of glycidol were dissolved in 20 ml of DMSO, and catalytic amount of sulfuric acid was added. The solution was heated to 90° C. and then heating and agitation was carried out for 3 hours, neutralized by adding sodium hydroxide and then adduct of cinnamic acid and glycerin was obtained.
