HBTU (104 mg, 0.27 mmol) was added to a solution of 5-[2-methyl-4-(3-methyl-4,10-dihydro-3H-2,3,4,9-tetraaza-benzo[f]azulene-9-carbonyl)-phenyl]-pentanoic acid from E83.2 (105 mg, 0.25 mmol) and 1-(3,3-dimethyl-butyl)-piperazine dihydrochloride from Example E4 (69 mg, 0.28 mmol) in DMF (10 ml) and DIEA (0.2 ml, 1.15 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 24 h at room temperature then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was dissolved in di-chloromethane, washed with saturated NaHCO3 then brine, dried and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by flash chromatography on silica gel (eluant; 4% methanol:96% dichloromethane to 8% methanol:92% di-chloromethane) to give a white solid identified as the title compound (88 mg, 62%).
