Procedure
A solution of 0.6 g of 6-methyl-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,2,4]thiadiazine 1,1-dioxide (Example 75) in 15 cm3 of acetonitrile is treated with 2.5 g of potassium carbonate and 0.9 g of methyl p-toluenesulfonate. After refluxing for 16 hours, the solvent is removed under partial vacuum and the solid obtained is taken up in 15 cm3 of water. The precipitate is collected on a filter, washed with water and dried.
