Procedure
A solution of 1.2 g of 6-methyl-4H-pyrido[3,2-e][1,2,4]thiadiazine 1,1-dioxide (Example 75) in 15 cm3 of acetonitrile is treated with 2.5 g of potassium carbonate and 2 g of ethyl bromide. After refluxing for 16 hours, the solvent is removed under partial vacuum and the solid obtained is taken up in 15 cm3 of water. The precipitate is collected on a filter, washed with water and dried.
