A solution of (5-phenyl-2H-tetraazol-2-yl)acetic acid (0.082 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide (2 ml) under nitrogen was treated with O-(7-azabenzotriazol-1-yl)-N,N,N′N′-tetramethylammonium hexafluorophosphate (0.152 g) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (0.139 ml) followed by a solution of Intermediate 9 (0.110 g) in N,N-dimethylformamide (3 ml), and the mixture was stirred at 22° C. for 4 h. The solvent was removed in vacuo and the residue dissolved in ethyl acetate (20 ml). The solution was washed with 10% aqueous citric acid (20 ml), brine (20 ml), saturated aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate (20 ml) and brine (20 ml), dried (MgSO4) and evaporated in vacuo. Purification by flash chromatography on silica gel (Merck 9385), eluting with ethyl acetate, followed by trituration of the resultant product with diethyl ether, gave the title compound as a white solid (0.184 g).
