Procedure
To a solution of 1-(2-methoxy-5-nitrophenyl)-piperazine (500 mg, 2.1 mmol) in dichloromethane (50 ml) at 0° C. under argon was added triethylamine (0.59 ml, 4.2 mmol) and cyclopropane carbonyl chloride (2.1 mmol). Stirring was continued for 12 hrs. The reaction mixture was concentrated in vacuo and partitioned between saturated aqueous NaHCO3 and dichloromethane. The organic layer was dried over sodium sulphate and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (D17) in 90% yield. Found MH+ 306.
