Procedure

To 0.48 g of 5-(2-aminosulfonylphenyl)-1-methyl-1H-tetrazole and 0.56 g of phenyl N-(4-chloro-6-methoxypyrimidine-2-yl)carbamate in 20 mL of dry acetonitrile at ambient temperature was added, with stirring, 0.3 mL of DBU. After stirring 16 hours the mixture was then poured into 25 g of ice followed by the addition of 10 mL of 2N hydrochloric acid. The precipitate thus formed was removed by filtration, washed with water and dried to yield 0.74 g of the desired product, m.p. 225°-227° C.
