4 N Hydrogen chloride in dioxane (3 ml) was added to tert-butyl 1-[6-amino-2-(methylthio)pyrimidin-4-yl]piperidin-4-ylcarbamate (Intermediate 45, 0.29 mg 0.86 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 90 minutes. The solvent was removed in vacuo to afford the title compound (238 mg).
