Procedure
Methyl 6-aminopyridine-2-carboxylate (Intermediate 121, 3.3 g, 22 mmol) was dissolved in acetone and to this was added a solution of mCPBA (5.9 g, 23.5 mmol) in acetone. After stirring overnight, the acetone was removed and the residue was suspended in 3 N HCl. The precipitate was filtered off to give the HCl salt (3.57 g, 87%).
Workup
- customthe acetone was removed
- filtrationThe precipitate was filtered off
