Ethyl 2-(4-{[(3,4-dichloro-5-methyl-1H-pyrrol-2-yl)carbonyl]amino}piperidin-1-yl)-4-[(1,3-dioxo-1,3-dihydro-2H-isoindol-2-yl)methyl]-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylate (Example 277; 194 mg, 0.32 mmol) in anhydrous THF (2 ml) was added 2 N LiOH (0.82 ml). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 4 h. The mixture was acidified to pH 3 and the precipitate that formed was diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo to give the title compound (160 mg).
