Procedure

A solution of 3,4-dichloro-N-[1-(3-formyl-1H-pyrrol-1-yl)piperidin-4-yl]-5-methyl-1H-pyrrole-2-carboxamide (Example 259, 151 mg, 0.41 mmol) and 50% aqueous hydroxylamine (55 μl, 0.83 mmol) in 5 ml EtOH was heated at 80° C. for 30 min. The mixture was diluted with EtOAc and washed with brine. Drying (MgSO4) and removal of solvent gave a solid that was purified by reverse phase HPLC (30-55% gradient CH3CN in water with 0.1% TFA) to give product as a mixture of geometrical isomers.
