BOPCl (1.48 g) was added to a suspension of (E)-3-[3-methoxy-4-(4-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]acrylic acid (1.0 g), 1-amino-3-(2-bromophenyl)piperidin-2-one (1.26 g) and TEA (1.1 mL) in DMF (20 mL), and the reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for three hours. Water and ethyl acetate were added to the reaction mixture, and the organic layer was separated. The resulting organic layer washed with saturated aqueous sodium chloride, dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate and then concentrated under reduced pressure. The resulting residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (carrier: Chromatorex NH; elution solvent: ethyl acetate-methanol system) to obtain 1.130 g of the title compound.
