Procedure

The diluted HCl/methanol solution was cooled (T<10° C.). Fexofendine base (50 grams) (1.88% H2O) was reacted with the diluted HCl/methanol solution, to form a fexofenadine-HCl solution. The molar ratio between fexofenadine-base and HCl was 1:1.
