To a stirred solution of the product from Step A (0.404 g, 1.29 mmol) in THF (30 mL) and water (10 mL) was added lithium hydroxide (96.0 mg, 4.0 mmol). After stirring at room temperature for 3 h, the reaction was quenched with 1N hydrochloric acid. The organic phase was separated and the aqueous phase was extracted with two portions of ethyl acetate. The combined organic layers were washed with brine and concentrated in vacuo to give the desired product.
