A suspension of 21 g (77.4 mmoles) of (10) and 31.1 g (155 mmoles) 3,5-dimethylpyrazole-1carboxamidine nitrate in 50 mL dioxane, 2 mL water and 47.2 mL N,N-diisopropylethylamine was warmed on a steam bath until a clear solution was obtained. After stirring 20 h at room temperature, the solid was filtered and washed well with water to provide 13 g of crude title compound (11).
