The product so obtained was used in place of 4-iodoaniline in the procedure described in Example 3 for the preparation of N-(4-iodophenyl)methanesulphonamide and ethanesulphonyl chloride was used in place of methanesulphonyl chloride. Thus was obtained N-(4-iodophenyl)-N-methylethanesulphonamide as an oil.
