The product from Step A (2.2 g, 7.24 mmol) was treated sequentially with n-butyllithium, sulfurdioxide, hydroxylamine-O-sulfonic acid and ethanolic HCl in much the same way as described in Example 4 to furnish the desired product as a hygroscopic white solid: mp 80°-85° C.
