To a solution of 7-methyl-2-propylimidazo [4,5-b]pyridine (106 mg, 0.61 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was added NaH (0.91 mmol). The suspension was stirred at room temperature for 30 minutes, at which time a solution of the product of Step D (200 mg, 0.667 mmol) in DMF (2 mL) was added. The mixture was stirred for 2 hours at room temperature, quenched with water, and then concentrated in vacuo. The residue was partitioned between water and EtOAc, and the combined organic layers were washed with brine, dried (K2CO3), filtered, and evaporated in vacuo. The residue was chromatographed on a silica gel flash chromatography column eluted with 50% ethyl acetate/hexane to afford 46 mg (19%) of the title compound.
