3.6 g of 2-amino-6-methoxybenzothiazole and 6.0 g of ethyl p-toluenesulfonate were fed into a 200 ml three-necked flask. The resultant mixture was stirred under heating on an oil bath at 120° C. for 3 hours. Acetone was added to the reaction mixture and the resultant mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The crystals thus formed were suction-filtered and washed with acetone to obtain the intended compound.
